ruinProjects: Updates
Site Update (5-14-2006)
Fawking YEsssss... Ruinprojects... How ya been?! BEEN SO LONG MAENG!
This will be quite a heartless update... meaning no content just promises of content to come. I have been slacking here and at Ruinsite... but good news is, which i forgot to say on ruinsite... I registered a domain name, unfortunatley ruinsite is the one with the domain name. Subsequently projects.ruinsite.com will be you... ruinprojects. I'm sorry, its just the way it happened.
I'm sitting here listening to depeche mode, do you care? no. but i told you that anyways.
I've been doing little in the way of DIY; well much has hapened since the last update, but not recently, in a few months that is. I have started a little foray in to effect production, as somewhat noted in the previous entry of ruinprojects. making crack distortions and crack tremelos for people. that has really slowed down though, because of a few personal issues... aka having to leave my school and moving into my parents house without any of my electronics supplies. Once i get my supplies back i will be back up and running, so anyone who ordered stuff from me, im really sorry! i will make it up to you, trust me.
I have put my modular on hold after i created a dual tri/square oscillator with FM and sync. Right now my main personal project focus has been a nice little analog drum machine. With the guidance of Circuit Master via http://www.getlofi.com i plan to make it midi capable, in either one of two incarnations: a simple midi clock > analog clock converter pic program or the previous mentioned midi device + note on> trigger pulse. The meat of this drum machine is going to be 3 4017 driven sequencers, a rat shack analog electro drum toy and a sn76477 chip with all the fixin's.. so 4 voices:
- 1x analog noise voice with decay and filter
- 2x Bass/tom voices with decay and pitch
- 1x SN76477 voice, which if you are not accustomed with it is a square wave oscillator, 1 lfo and digital clocked noise source with attack and decay.
So hopefuly this machine will be hawt seckz like my beetz.
Um, can't really think of anything else... oh yeah! im recasing my effects modular into a smaller case, because well.. the case is big and ugly... like your mom. yeah, okay, i can't think of anything else to type about, so... see ya later? probably in about 6 months judging from my last update.

Site Update (11-14-2005)
Finally!
A new update has arrived! And, as I believe, it is worth the wait! Lots of stuff to be seen. I have added a small distortion box, which is quite poopulescent, a circuit bent PSR-130 keyboard, and an update to the portable modular. Sorry for the long wait, that is to anyone who even views this. But have at it and enjoy! Also, I have a random picture of some enclosures I will be building some effects into to sell to gain some funds to buy more components for my modular. If anyone is interested in a custom effects box, please drop me a line and we will discuss.
The cases are here.
New Circuit Bent Gear (9-6-2005)
Today, we see alot of new devices, and a new section. This section is for my circuit bent devices... which, I don't seem to have alot of, like most circuit benders. But i really do, its just those small devices that I choose not to put up... like those little toys that say a few words that you add a pitch bend to and maybe a distortion. Anyway, there are 4 new devices up, with lots of sound samples. Well, keep in mind these aren't "NEW", some of these circuit bent devices are pretty old, but, nevertheless, new to this website.
Also, I have a little sound sample here. It is of the ER-1, TR-626 and SK-1 doing a little loop type thing.
ruinProjects Launches! (9-3-2005)
Welcome to the new ruinProjects! This site is a sister site of ruinSite, a personal cave for the ambient meanderings and industrial noise of one Phil 'Ruin' Baljeu.
This site was created to showcase Ruin's amazing talent for creating and circuit bending - modifying to suit ones needs - various pieces of audio gear. From DIY modular synths to guitar pedals gone wrong, you can count on Ruin creating some truly awe-inspiring pieces.
So take a look around and enjoy!
